In addition to meticulously converting your existing database -- which eases substantially the transition to your new software -- IO selects the best hardware and network options to ensure that your equipment supports and optimizes your workflow.
Administrative Conversion
A successful implementation begins with proper planning for data conversion. We discuss your conversion with you, deciding what data to bring over to the new system. Typically, administrative conversions involve the following:
- IO converts all demographic information, including patient insurance information. This process is expedited by our electronic Patient Questionnaire. We exclude those patients who are deceased or have not been seen at the practice in seven years.
- IO converts all appointments, referrals, pre-certifications, referring doctors, insurance plans, fee schedules and recalls into your electronic scheduling system.
- IO scans and converts all facilities forms and facsimiles to electronic versions.
- In order to maintain proper financial reports and to prevent data errors, IO does not bring over insurance accounts receivable.
- Customers post "old" payments in their old system until nearly all insurance monies have been collected. They then bring over any and all remaining patient balances.
Uniquely, IO uses your old system's financial records to begin the creation of your new clinical records. IO extracts the following from your financial database and lists them in each patient's record, in reverse chronological order:
- All diagnostic tests.
- All procedures.
- All diagnoses.
